Create A Better Life for Students In Need
“Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
The Mavis Scarlett Foundation Inc. is dedicated to assisting economically disadvantaged students with financial and educational resources for a quality education.

Proud Jamaican. Mother. Inspiration.
ABOUT OUR FOUNDATION
The Mavis Scarlett Foundation is a private foundation that was incorporated in 2018 within the meaning of Section 509 (a) of the Internal Revenue Code (IRC). The foundation is exempt from federal income tax under IRC Section 501 (c) (3) and shall operate exclusively for assisting
students with resources to afford a quality education.
The foundation was created in honor of Mavis Scarlett who worked at the Queens High School in St. Andrews, Jamaica for over 35 years. Mavis Scarlett was a hard-working mother and grandmother who raised her children and grandchildren on the fundamental belief that a solid education would be the key to their personal and professional advancement.
The foundation is established under the principle of coaching and guiding children in a positive manner with educational support so that they will become productive adult citizens. Each year the board of directors will select a group of children based on their academic performance,
attendance record, and financial need. The directors will award the selected students with tuition fees, books, and other school essentials for the upcoming school year.
Our mission is to continue Mavis Scarlett’s legacy by supporting children who are in need of
financial assistance to afford a quality education. We began our initial sponsorship in 2016 by partnering with the Hamilton Garden Basic School in St. Catherine, Jamaica. Our goal is to
collaborate with more educational institutions and to award more students to help the children attend and actively participate in school.

JOIN US IN OUR MISSION
Help us strive to make quality education affordable and available to all children.
Most children in poverty stressed areas can’t afford breakfast and transportation to school.
Supplies, and Fees
Many children have only one pair of uniforms (or none at all), can’t afford books, and are unable to pay their school fees to attend school to attain their basic education.
Most of these children live in violence-ridden communities and face the shortcomings of access to quality education.
All donors and sponsors will get end of the year thank you gift appreciation.
